Flip-Flop

I've been going back and forth on my decision for graduate school.

A number of rabies people at the C.D.C. got their start at the Wistar Institute, which is affiliated with UPenn. And honestly, I fell a little bit in love with the laboratory at UPenn. I feel like it's a place I want to spend time in.

Mostly, I feel scared about going to graduate school. I know I'm smart, a good student and a hard worker, but graduate school is different than professional school. The actual facts you're required to learn are fairly minimal, the most important lesson is how to think for yourself. I can't shake the feeling that memorizing facts can be done, with enough energy and time, no matter what. But if you're too dull to formulate a truly elegant research projects, it can't be helped.

I am teetering on the verge of a great unknown.

I must add the disclaimer that you are considering "real post-graduate" studies.

My University wasn't really too picky with their enrollment process nor their presentation of a degree.

You'll do great, but I don't want to encourage you because I don't want you to leave. I'd rather feed your fears of not being good enough in a selfish attempt to get you to stay.

PS: I'm also considering doing this to Adam. I've lost to many good friends to the pursuit of higher education (Justin, Scott, Brian just to name a few)

do the only truly rational thing: flip a coin.
