This little dude (species Lasiurus borealis) is hanging out by my AC unit. I'm keeping an eye on him in case he's sick.
This is my birthday present to me. I shall call it Planty. I've got quite a little table top garden in my living room, since I repotted my fern and transferred an offshoot into a new pot. Plus I have the Mennonite cactus some of you may or may not remember.
Update: the little dude is a goner. I notified management and briefly wondered if I should mention that he should be tested for rabies. But I didn't, 'cause why make more work for my peoples? (I kid, I kid.. I don't think anybody touched him and I'm sure animal control or whoever will get him tested anyway, if they do that here).

by naming your plant planty, are you telling me that you watched 'austin stories?'
Happy Birthday E.
Aaaaaw, what a cute wittle batty. I hope the little dude is all right.
i heart your planty. very cute.
Hello -- Please be careful with "Little Dude". They are not the ost sanitary animals. ute, but a bite from him can be very serious, not to mention any parasites he might be carrying around. On the plus side, he'll eat a lot of flying insects around your place. I would not pet him, and finding a collar small enough might be tough....Scott
oops -- typos rule!!!!!!!!
Actually, bats are no more unsanitary than any other wild animals.
I worked with rabies for over a year so I've spent a lot of time handling bats, dead and alive.
but did you watch austin stories?
Nope, I came up with the name Planty all by myself. It took a lot of thinking.
