I don't get mimes.
Was there some time in humanity's history where mimes were appreciated as genuinely entertaining? I mean, before mimes sort of became a universally unfunny joke?
Did people used to look at a mime pretending he was trapped in a box and think: "I am enjoying this most excellent display of miming prowess. I shall now laugh in hearty appreciation."?
Do mimes think mimes are funny and/or entertaining?
