I had big plans for blogging over these two weeks.
I am experiencing a writter's glut, speaking almost exclusively French for the last week and then some has left the English speaking portion of my brain to languish, musing on old favorits and producing an excess of the English language. And having two digital cameras with which to photograph the foreign cityscape I find myself walking through daily as well as a nifty wireless connection I thought it surely a bonanza for Blog.
And then my faithful laptop of four and a half years decided it doesn't much feel like running Windows.
So that's my excuse...

I remember reading about how in certain parts of Asia and in Macedonia, people use cormorants to catch fish.
The fisherman uses a ring or tie on the bird's neck so it won't be able to swallow the fish it catches.
Every seventh fish the fisherman has to give to the cormorant or else the bird will stop fishing.
And if I remember correctly, after a few years, the cormorant won't fish for the fisherman any more.
The cormorant would rather starve than lose all but the seventh fish.
Except maybe that last part isn't true.
